Dental Crowns & Bridges

Restore Your Smile To Its Natural State

About Dental Crowns

A dental crown is a tooth-shaped, custom-made “cap” that is placed over a tooth, either for protection or cosmetic enhancement. Dental crowns are used to restore a tooth's shape, size and strength, as well as improving its overall appearance.

Dental crowns are commonly used to protect a weak tooth from breaking down further, or to restore a broken/worn-down tooth.

If your tooth is chipped or cracked, dental crown can be used to restore the tooth to its original shape and prevent further damages.

Additionally, dental crowns are also used to:

  • Cover & support a tooth with large filling.

  • Cover misshapened or discoloured teeth

  • Cover tooth with root canal treatment

With more patients experiencing cracked tooth or teeth, dental crown is usually indicated by your dentists to protect the tooth.

About Dental Bridges

A dental bridge is used to replace one or more teeth. It 'bridges' the gap between missing teeth and is usually supported by the remaining teeth on each side of the missing gap.

A missing tooth is a serious matter. Teeth are made to work together to help you chew, speak and smile. When you lose a tooth, the nearby teeth may shift and become crooked. This may make it harder to speak or chew. A missing tooth in the lower jaw may cause a tooth in your upper jaw to shift down into that space, meaning your teeth will no longer be even or in a straight line. This can affect your bite and place more stress on your teeth and jaw joints, possibly causing pain and damage.

Teeth that have tipped or drifted are also harder to clean. This can increase the risk for tooth decay and gum disease.

Missing teeth can lead to bone loss, which can cause neighbouring teeth to become loose and can lead to facial collapse. If that happens, it may change the way the jawbone supports the lips and cheeks. Over time, this can make your face look older.

CAD CAM Single Day Crown

Dental crowns are great to cover up cosmetic damages and restore your natural, beautiful smile.

However, traditionial porcelain crowns may take two or three visits over the course of several weeks to place, which might be inconvenient for your busy schedule.

Additionally, conventional crowns require placement of a temporary crown over your tooth between visits. Many patients find this process annoying, as they wait for the permanent crown to be placed.

At Dental On The Bay, we use the cutting-edge technology to provide an option for patient to complete his or her crown in a single visit - called CAD CAM Single Day Crown.

With this option, your crown can be designed, milled, and placed in just about two hours. In a single appointment, your smile will be restored to to its original, pristine state.

Treatment Cost & Payment Plan

The treatment cost ranges from $1,000 – 1,650 per tooth and depending on the type of material for the crown or bridge. The materials used are either full ceramic, porcelain-fused-to-metal or full metal.

For CAD CAM Single Day Crown, the cost is $1,650 per tooth.
